VP Singh Badnore today said that the iconic Jang-E-Azadi memorial would ever act as a lighthouse for inculcating the nationalistic spirit and fervor amongst our youngsters.<\/p>\n<p>Interacting with the officers\/officials during his visit to the memorial here today, the Governor, accompanied by Managing Editor of Ajit group of Newspapers Dr Barjinder Singh Hamdard, said that this state of the art memorial has given boost to the tourism sector in the state and Kartarpur now emerges prominently on the world tourist map. He said that besides giving impetus to tourist potential in the state this memorial has also gone a long way in making the younger generations abreast of their rich heritage of valour, patriotism and self sacrifice that was the driving force behind our national freedom struggle. Sh. Badnore said that this memorial aptly showcases each and every facet of our national freedom struggle in an appropriate manner.<\/p>\n<p>The Governor categorically said this world class memorial was a perfect blend of grandeur, aesthetics and architecture adding that it was a befitting tribute to the great heroes of our freedom struggle. Sh. Badnore said that this architectural marvel would ever act as a beacon to acquaint our younger generations about the saga of great sacrifices made by our martyrs especially from Punjab to free their motherland from the yoke of British imperialism. Likewise, he said that this memorial has emerged Jalandhar as a major tourist destination thereby giving much needed boost to tourism in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the President of the Executive Committee of the Jang-E-Azaadi Foundation Dr Barjinder Singh Hamdard welcomed the Governor to the memorial. He also apprised the Governor about the entire project being managed by Jang-e-Azadi foundation.<\/p>\n<p>On the occasion, the Governor, accompanied by his wife Smt.
