In his address the President of India recalled the glorious legacy of the Indian Armed forces in protecting the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country. He said that every citizen has a sound sleep back at their homes because they were aware that valiant soldiers were safeguarding the borders of the country. Mr Kovind also said that he was fortunate to be in Punjab, which was the land of Sainiks (Soldiers) and saints.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the President took salute an impressive march past from the officers of the Indian Air Force. He awarded the standards to the officers of both the units and complimented them.
