\nChief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said that the toll barrier on the National Highway-1 (NH-I) near Bhigan village in Panipat was not of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) but for the over-bridge constructed on it. \u201cEfforts are being made to include the cost of the over-bridge in the account of the NHAI to find an alternative to the toll plaza,\u201d he said. He hoped that soon people would not have to pay toll.<\/p>\n
Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda had alleged recently that the newly set up toll plaza was against rules as it was the third one within 60 km between Kundli and Panipat.<\/p>\n
Khattar, while addressing mediapersons here, said that of 3,600 announcements made by the state government in the last two years, the work on about 2,550 had either been completed or was in the final stages. He added the work on the remaining announcements would be completed by the year end. \u201cI have visited 18 districts to listen to public grievances and will cover the other four districts by November end,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Asked about the railway coach factory, the Chief Minister said the land transfer exercise with the Railways had been completed and the foundation stone of the factory would be laid soon near Gannaur in the district.<\/p>\n
On the demand for holding elections in the villages included in the upgraded Sonepat Municipal Corporation, Khattar said the work for demarcation of wards and updating of electoral rolls of these villages had been started.<\/p>\n
Earlier while listening to public grievances at a Janta darbar here, the Chief Minister directed the district administration not to allow heavy commercial vehicles to enter the town from the Murthal side as then these pass through residential sectors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
