{"id":10807,"date":"2017-11-22T11:15:44","date_gmt":"2017-11-22T11:15:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/punjabnews24.com\/?p=10807"},"modified":"2017-11-22T11:15:44","modified_gmt":"2017-11-22T11:15:44","slug":"sdm-asks-youth-to-play-an-important-role-in-strengthening-of-democratic-set-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/sdm-asks-youth-to-play-an-important-role-in-strengthening-of-democratic-set-up\/","title":{"rendered":"SDM ASKS YOUTH TO PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN STRENGTHENING OF DEMOCRATIC SET UP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION INAUGURATES SVEEP CAMPAIGN IN JALANDHAR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jalandhar,<br \/>\nSub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Jalandhar (I) Mr. Rajeev Verma today said that the youth could play an important role in strengthening of democratic set up by enrolling themselves as voters.<\/p>\n<p>Inaugurating the Systematic Voters&#8217; Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign to elicit maximum participation of the youth in this campaign from CT Institute (Maqsoodan Campus) here today, the SDM said that this campaign was all the more important to make the students aware of the importance of vote. He said that the main aim of taking such initiatives was to ensure that students take this message back at their homes and further convey it to their parents, pears and relatives to apprise them of importance of being a voter in a democratic country. Mr. Verma said that it was the moral duty of every individual to get themselves registered as voters whenever they become eligible for it.<\/p>\n<p>Reiterating that it was very important for youngsters to actively participate in the democratic process, the SDM said that all out efforts are being made for sensitizing the youngsters between age group of 18-21 years about the need to enroll themselves as the voters. He said that on directives of Election Commission of India (ECI) the district administration has already started a special drive to register the youngsters as new voters adding that the main motive of this drive was to ensure error free revision of the electoral rolls by enrolling the left segment of voters especially the youngsters.
