\nIndia enjoyed an all-win day at the AIBA Women\u2019s Youth World Boxing Championships with five of the country\u2019s pugilists advancing to the quarterfinals after contrasting victories here today.<\/p>\n
The fast-rising Ankushita Boro (64kg) led the charge with a facile win over Turkey\u2019s Aluc Cagla, putting on an aggressive performance. Ankushita is a silver medallist from the Balkan Youth International Boxing Championship and the International Ahmet Comert Tournament.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe beat me in her country, so it was only natural that I return the favour in my own country,\u201d Ankushita said.<\/p>\n
Also advancing to the quarterfinals are Shashi Chopra (57kg), Jyoti Gulia (51kg), Neetu (48kg) and Sakshi Choudhary (54kg). They join Astha Pahwa (69kg), who entered the quarterfinals on Monday.<\/p>\n
Jyoti, who opened the proceedings for India on Tuesday, defeated Ukraine\u2019s Anastasiia Lisinska. Shashi stunned second seed Lin Li Wei-Yi of Chinese Taipei.<\/p>\n
In the evening session, Neetu \u2014 the Balkan Youth International Championship gold-medallist and the reigning national champion \u2014 out-witted Bulgaria\u2019s Emi-Mari Todorova in her pre-quarterfinal bout.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was an easy bout for me. I had beaten her earlier in Bulgaria too and I knew how to tackle her,\u201d Neetu said. \u201cShe didn\u2019t allow me to move freely in the first round. My coach changed the strategy midway and that made all the difference.\u201d<\/p>\n
