\nExhorting the youth above the age of 18 years to get themselves enrolled as voters, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) would receive the claims and objections for revision of electoral rolls today i.e Sunday (November 26) during special camps at all the polling stations across the district.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued here today, the Deputy Commissioner said that as per the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the process of revision of electoral rolls has been started in the district. He said that under this campaign a special campaign would be organized on Sunday in which BLOs would receive the claims and objections regarding votes at all the polling stations of the distric. Mr. Sharma said that under this special summary revision of Photo electoral roll for Lok Sabha\/ Vidhan Sabha assembly segments for the left out eligible voters, the BLOs had already start door to door survey from November15 adding that this survey would be completed by the end of this month.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Commissioner said that during this door to door survey information would be collected from eligible voters in format I to VIII regarding enrolled voters, NRI voters and information regarding the youngsters who would be attaining the age of 18 years as on January 1, 2018. He asked the voters to be cautious regarding double registration in the electoral roll as it was a crime under
\nRepresentation of People Act 1950. Mr. Sharma said that enrolled elector might check the particulars recorded in the electoral roll by sending the SMS to 07738299899.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Commissioner said that any person of the age 18 years or above as on January 1, 2018 but who has not been enrolled as an elector, could become a voter by filling form no. 6 on www.nvsp.in till December 14, 2017. He said that the applicant just has to upload his coloured photograph along with proof of date of birth and proof of residence. Mr. Sharma appealed to people that eligible voter should apply online at www.nvsp.in for enrolment instead of using printed forms so that the particulars filled by the applicant may be printed correctly on EPIC.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
