The actor, who has turned author with her debut book, The Perils of Being Moderately Famous, says being a recognisable public figure, one\u2019s experiences can be both equally frustrating and amusing.<\/p>\n<p>In her book, Soha talks about finding herself in different capacities \u2013 as legendary cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and veteran Bollywood star Sharmila Tagore\u2019s daughter, and actors Saif Ali Khan\u2019s sister and Kareena Kapoor Khan\u2019s sister-in-law.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with PTI, Soha says, \u201cI belong to a family of superstars. My parents achieved the highest level of success in their respective professions. My brother is a very successful actor, my sister-in-law is a superstar. Even Taimur (her nephew) was trending on Twitter even before he opened his eyes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are all sorts of famous personalities. For the most part of my life I was completely non-famous. My only identity was, I was a sibling or a daughter to these other famous people.\u201d Soha, however, is aware that being moderately famous has its own disadvantages.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019re recognised but a lot of people don\u2019t know your name but they\u2019ll know your sister-in-law\u2019s. \u2018Oh we are big fans of Kareena Kapoor,\u2019 they\u2019d say. I have spoken a little bit about what that feels like, whether good or bad. \u201cI\u2019ve also joked with people who\u2019ve stopped me and said \u2018Are you Saif Ali Khan\u2019s sister? Can we have a picture?\u2019 and I\u2019ve said \u2018only if you can tell what my name is\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The actor says she does not regret being \u201cmoderately famous\u201d. \u201cAbsolutely not\u2026 One shouldn\u2019t get upset by all of this. This is a huge part of my identity which I\u2019ve embraced \u2013 I\u2019ve got a lot of security, comfort, warmth and respect out of being who I am, the things I didn\u2019t earn but my parents did,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>Talking about constant comparisons with her mother as a actor, Soha says being a star kid, it is one of those things that cannot be controlled. \u201cMy first review, I remember, people said, \u2018She looks her mother but acts like her father\u2019. My father said, \u2018I don\u2019t know what that means. I am a very good actor\u2019. He had done a lot of advertisements in the past!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Rang De Basanti star believes it is difficult to break free from the family image, but today she looks back at her career in a good light. \u201cPeople expect you to do big-budget films or the kind of films that may be my mother did.
