\nThe National Investigating Agency (NIA) has taken the custody of the alleged Pakistani Lashkar-e-Toiba militant, Aamir, from the J&K Police.<\/p>\n
Aamir, 18, a resident of Baldia town, Karachi, was arrested on Friday at Magam, Handwara, in frontier Kupwara district, by a joint team of the Army and the police, along with one AK-47 and two AK magazines.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe NIA has taken over the custody of the militant,\u201d said Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir, Vidhi Kumar Birdi.<\/p>\n
After Aamir was arrested, he was jointly questioned by the police, Army and intelligence sleuths to know about the route from where he infiltrated to Kashmir and the local contacts who helped him reach Magam. He reportedly told the interrogators that he was part of a small Lashkar group that had infiltrated through Kupwara recently.<\/p>\n
\u201cThree members of the group were killed in a gunfight in the area on November 21,\u201d he reportedly told the interrogators. Many combing operations were launched in Handwara following his arrest.<\/p>\n
The NIA will shift Aamir to Delhi and they will try to know the plans of the militant group.<\/p>\n
It is not the first time that the NIA has taken the custody of a captured Pakistani militant from Kashmir. Last year, out of the four arrested Pakistani militants, the NIA had taken custody of Bahadur Ali, who was held at Mawar in the Nowgam sector on July 25. In 2015, the NIA had taken the custody of Pakistani militant Naveed, who was arrested after carrying out an attack on a BSF convoy in Udhampur.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
