\nThe Punjab Agricultural University has entered into agreement with Amrik Agricultural Industries, Batala, for commercialization of \u201cPAU Cutter cum Spreader\u201d technology. Dr Navtej Singh Bains, Director of Research, PAU and representative of Amrik Agricultural Industries, signed the MoA on behalf of their respective organizations in the presence of PAU Vice Chancellor, Dr B.S.Dhillon.<\/p>\n
Dr Bains informed that the \u201cPAU Cutter cum Spreader\u201d which is now available for Rs 40,000\/- is low cost and practically applicable technology for cutting, chopping and uniform spreading of paddy straw in combine harvested paddy fields. The machine has low running cost and can be operated with 35 to 40 HP tractors with capacity of 2 acres per hour. The machine will facilitate the operations of other insitu straw management machinery like \u201cPAU Happy Seeder\u201d, Mould Board Plough etc, which will ultimately halt paddy straw burning and help farmers to enhance soil productivity with insitu paddy straw management.<\/p>\n
Dr S.S. Chahal , from theTechnology Marketing and IPR Cell, revealed that till date, PAU has signed 72 MoAs for commercialization of various products, technologies etc with different firms\/ individuals across the nation.
