Chandigarh : In Annual Athletic Meet 2017, KBDAVians presented a plethora of activities by performing drills and artistic sports on the musical beats with colourful props in the School premises. \nThe function was presided over by the Hon\u2019ble Shri Rubinderjit Singh Brar, PCS, Director School Education and hon\u2019ble Guest of Honour was Shri Vivek Atray, IAS (Retd.). The show was graced by Mrs. Madhu Bahl, Regional Director and Founder Principal of the school. Among other distinguished guests Dr. K.S. Arya, LMC Member; Dr. B.C. Josan, Principal, DAV College, Chandigarh and Manager of the School and all Tricity DAV Principals and leading educationists.<\/p>\n
The programme started with a Welcome address by the Principal Mrs. Pooja Prakash. Her welcome speech was followed by March Past by the School Senate, including the decorated players of the School, who had returned victorious from the State level and National level Championships. The Chief Guest unfurled the flag and declared the Sports Meet open. Parvesh, the school captain led the Oath taking Ceremony and took the pledge on behalf of the school national athletes who have brought laurels to the school time and again.

\nThe students from Classes Nursery, KG, I, II and III showcased their unity and physical strength in their Rhythmic Dance Mass drills. They displayed their energy, enthusiasm and teamwork through a wonderful mass loop drill. The pulse of the show which left the audience spellbound was the Welcome Dance on the songs Sultan and Bahubali. Next came a display of Yoga Asanas and Karate Skills. The dexterity of Yoga Asana performances and Karate players was awesome sauce. A P.T. Drill by students from Classes Nursery to II drew a huge applause. The Ball Carnival Dance by students of Classes III, IV and V was an eye candy. A Tribute to the Indian Soldiers by the junior students was the cynosure of their patriotic zeal. The students of Class VI & VII paid tribute to our soldiers by giving a spectacular performance on the numbers \u2018Jai Ho\u2019 and \u2018Vande Matram\u2019.<\/p>\n
The other scintillating aspect of the programme was a graceful and exuberant drill by the girls and boys of Class IX. A peppy dance drill Zumba and energizing aerobic exercises drill set the tone for the rest of the event. A Speech was delivered by Shri Vivek Atray, IAS (Retd.), who also expressed his happiness over the function.<\/p>\n
The dance drill numbers were followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony. Around 231 Medals and Prizes were awarded to the winners of various events held during the day.
