New Delhi : Modi Government has partially relaxed the airing of condom advertisements during from 6 am to 10 pm.
\nThe Information and Broadcasting Ministry has clarified that the earlier advisory on condom ads only pertained to sexually explicit content being used to market certain condom brands which titillate the audience.
\nIn an official communication on Wednesday, the ministry said ,\u201cAdvertisements that do not sexually objectify women can continue to play beyond curfew hours. It is clarified that the said advisory only pertains to sexually explicit content being used to market certain condom brands which titillate the audience from a PR perspective. Advertisements that do not sexually objectify women and are aimed at informing citizens regarding devices\/products\/medical interventions to ensure safe sex are not covered under the said advisory.\u201d
\n It may be recalled that the ministry on December 11, had enforced ban on telecast of condom ads on TV channels from 6 am to 10 am .
\nThe revised order of the I& B ministry has been issued one day after the Rajasthan High Court issued a notice to the union government seeking to know the reasons behind its decision to bar airing of condom advertisements on TV channels between 6 am and 10 pm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
