Working with countries like India, Russia and China is a \u201cvery good thing\u201d, US President Donald Trump said on Thursday, defending his efforts to improve ties with Moscow.<\/p>\n
Trump said he was for strongest military, massive oil and gas and a lot of energy. \u201cPutin (Russian President Vladimir Putin) can\u2019t love that,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
\u201cWorking with countries, whether it\u2019s Russia or China or India, or any of the countries that surround this world and encompass this world, is a very good thing. That\u2019s not a bad thing,\u201d he told reporters at a joint White House news conference with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg.<\/p>\n
Trump said it was \u201cvery much better\u201d having to do with North Korea where the US currently has a problem.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat should have never been my problem. It should have been a problem solved many years ago when it was much less dangerous. But it was given to him, along with a big mess of other things,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n
He blamed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, his presidential rival in 2016 elections, saying she \u201cwas not was not for a strong military\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cHillary, my opponent, was for windmills, and she was for other types of energy that don\u2019t have the same capacities at this moment certainly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Trump said it was a \u201clot better\u201d to work with other countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re working with China on North Korea. We\u2019re working with various other countries, and I think we\u2019re doing very well. We had a great talk, as you know and as you reported.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had a great talk this morning with President Moon (of South Korea), and I think that a lot of good things are happening. We\u2019re going to see what happens,\u201d the US president said.<\/p>\n
Solberg said Norway has a \u201cvery good\u201d relationship with Russia.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a neighbouring country we do day-to-day work on things that we have to solve for the people and the economic activity that is in that area, which is a fragile area for the whole world,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
