The news was shared by filmmaker Karan Johar on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Karan took to micro-blogging site Twitter and tweeted, \u201cThe lead actress in KESARI is &#8230; Parineeti Chopra.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The movie is based on the Battle of Saragarhi. Akshay, 50, started filming the project and also released his first look from the movie on January 5.<\/p>\n<p>Parineeti was last seen in Rohit Shetty\u2019s directorial venture Golmaal Again alongside Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and many actors. The movie broke the dry spell of box office and performed well.<\/p>\n<p>On a related note, Akshay is gearing up for the release of Padman. The movie also features Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte.
