Actor Nushrat Bharucha, who stars in the upcoming film, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (SKTKS), is taking inspiration from the current phenomenon of female-driven films in Bollywood. \u201cThere should be a correct balance. With films like NH-10 and Phillauri, what Anushka Sharma is doing, or what Shraddha Kapoor and Vidya Balan are doing with their films, the industry is changing for women. So, at this point in my career, I, too, have to come up with an interesting concept, instead of just dancing around trees. I hope I have done well in SKTKS,\u201d says Nushrat, who has done films such as Love, Sex Aur Dhokha (2010), Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011) and the latter\u2019s sequel in 2015.<\/p>\n
Has the nature of offers coming her way changed in any way after Pyaar Kaa….? The film and its sequel both were box office hits. \u201cPyaar Ka Punchnama was mainly a boys\u2019 film; we girls were just a catalyst. We would set up a situation for them to react to, and the joke would come on us. The applause was for the boys. But, the film paved the way for me in the industry.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nushrat\u2019s dad Tanvir Bharucha is a renowned theatre actor. She, too, tried the medium for some time before venturing into films. Explaining why she is apprehensive about it, Nushrat says. \u201cTheatre is difficult. It\u2019s not that I\u2019m afraid of doing \u2018one takes\u2019 or shots, but it\u2019s about being able to live one character for several hours on a daily basis! When I do films, I get off-days.
