The makers of Manoj Bajpayee, Sidharth Malhotra-starrer Aiyaary have decided to shift the release of their film to February 16. Earlier, it was scheduled to hit<\/p>\n
the screens with Akshay Kumar\u2019s PadMan on February 9.<\/p>\n
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh has tweeted the film\u2019s new release date.
\nInitially, Aiyaary was planned to release during the long weekend of the Republic Day. Later, Akshay Kumar also announced that he will release his new film<\/p>\n
PadMan on the same day. He finally chose January 25 as his release date.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Sanjay Leela Bhansali\u2019s Padmaavat, got a clearance from the Censor Board. More than Rs 180 crore was on stake for Bhansali\u2019s film, so he also<\/p>\n
wanted a longer weekend. Finally, he decided to hit the screens on January 25, the same date as PadMan. Considering it to be the clash of the titans, the<\/p>\n
producers of relatively small-budget film Aiyaary, decided to shift their film to February 9.<\/p>\n
Bhansali\u2019s highly controversial film convinced Akshay Kumar to not go public on the same date and thus he picked February 9 as his preferred release date.<\/p>\n
Eventually, Padmaavat released on January 24 in paid previews.Now, when Aiyaary is shifted to a new date, it\u2019ll be a free run for PadMan which is likely to get<\/p>\n
more than 2000 screens.<\/p>\n
In an earlier interview, Sidharth Malhotra said he signed Aiyaary because he wanted to take risks in his career. \u201cDeep-rooted characters like in \u2018Ittefaq\u2019 or<\/p>\n
\u2018Aiyaary\u2019, had lot of depth, which I personally like. and I think you just grow (as actor). I think to do just a love story becomes sightly frivolous. If you do not have<\/p>\n
