Manpreet (30th min, 44th) starred for the sixth-ranked India, while Varun Kumar (17th) and Harjeet Singh (49th) chipped in with a goal each. Bob de Voogd scored two goals for world No. 4 Netherlands. The hosts drew first blood when they won a penalty corner in the fifth minute. The drag flick found the foot of skipper Manpreet Singh, resulting in another penalty corner, and eventually a penalty stroke. Mink van der Weerden put his side ahead when he pushed the ball past India&#8217;s goalkeeper Akash Chikte.<\/p>\n<p>India got over the initial jitters by controlling the midfield, thanks to Manpreet who showcased top quality skill and stick work. The attacking approach helped India find a penalty corner in the 17th minute.
