On the people to people and cultural ties front, PM Modi will visit the Sultan Qaboos Mosque. He visited a Shiva Temple in Muscat. This ancient temple was<\/p>\n
constructed by the Merchant community from Gujarat settled in Oman centuries ago. Originally constructed nearly 109 years ago, it was extensively renovated in<\/p>\n
1999. The temple is all decked up for Mahashivratri.<\/p>\n
Oman is a close and important geo-strategic neighbour. Defence cooperation between India and Oman is one of a kind in the entire Gulf region. Army, navy and<\/p>\n
air force exercises are conducted between the two countries on a regular basis. It was due to the initiative taken by Oman that resulted in the return of Indian<\/p>\n
