\nThe triumph in the ODI series was tempered a bit by a loss in the third and final ODI but that would hardly dent the Indian women\u2019s cricket team\u2019s confidence as it heads into a five-game T20 rubber against South Africa, starting here tomorrow. After commanding victories in the first two ODIs, the Indian women lost by seven wickets in the third ODI here last Friday. The loss, however, hardly made any difference as India had already pocketed the three-match series.<\/p>\n
Like in the ODI series, the Indian women would look to make a winning start to their T20 campaign. While Mithali Raj led the side in the ODI series, the explosive Harmanpreet Kaur will be at the helm of affairs in the T20 series. India would also be bolstered by the inclusion of T20 specialist Anuja Patil and debutant all-rounder Radha Yadav and wicketkeeper Nuzhat Parveen in the squad. The T20 squad also features 17-year-old Mumbai player Jemimah Rodrigues, who had grabbed headlines after scoring 202 in 163 balls in an Under-19 game.<\/p>\n
After losing the last ODI, the Indians would rely heavily on in-form opener Smriti Mandhana to provide a solid start. Deepti Sharma and Veda Krishnamurthy, who made 79 and 56, respectively, in the last ODI, would be hoping to carry their good form to the shortest format.<\/p>\n
