\nChief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said his government continued to enjoy an untarnished image even though it had decided to cancel FIRs against protesters booked during the Jat agitation in 2016.<\/p>\n
He was here to interact with BJP workers in view of party chief Amit Shah\u2019s rally in Jind.<\/p>\n
When asked whether or not the decision to quash FIRs would affect the image of the state government, the CM said \u201cno, it will not\u201d.<\/p>\n
The All-India Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti led by Yashpal Malik had threatened to disrupt Shah\u2019s Jind rally. Subsequently, the Chief Minister had called members of the samiti for a meeting in Delhi on Sunday.<\/p>\n
After the three rounds of talks, the government assured them to fulfil their demands mentioned in the March 19 agreement. One of the demands was to cancel cases against protesters.<\/p>\n
On the possibility of resentment brewing among traders, whose properties were damaged during the Jat agitation, and that they may boycott the rally, Khattar said it had no relation with the rally.<\/p>\n
About the rally, he said all arrangements had been made and workers would reach the venue maintaining discipline.<\/p>\n
Jagmohan Anand, district BJP president, said the Chief Minister would flag off about 3,000 motorcycles of party workers and leaders from his constituency tomorrow morning. \u201cThe CM will reach the venue on a bike from Alewa village in Jind district,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
