The Central Bureau of Investigation today sealed the Punjab National Bank’s Brady House branch in Mumbai from where transactions related to PNB scam were<\/p>\n
carried out by jewellery designer Nirav Modi.<\/p>\n
The branch was sealed a day after CBI took control of the entire campus of the branch for an intensive search operation. Punjab National Bank’s Brady Road<\/p>\n
branch in Mumbai is at the centre of a colossal banking fraud involving Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi.<\/p>\n
The CBI’s move comes after the agency on Saturday arrested former PNB Deputy Manager Gokulnath Shetty, single window operator Manoj Kharat and<\/p>\n
group’s authorised signatory Hemand Bhat.<\/p>\n
The agency started questioning of five more officials, including general manager-level officers, taking the total number of those being quizzed to 11.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Central Vigilance Commissioner KV Chowdhary will today meet PNB’s Chief Executive Officer Sunil Mehta and the Chief Vigilance Officer to seek<\/p>\n
an explanation on the 11,360 crore rupees fraud involving jewellery designer Nirav Modi, his relative and business partner Mehul Choksi and others. The CVC<\/p>\n
will also be meeting top-ranking officials of the CBI today.<\/p>\n
The meeting in Delhi will also be attended by senior Finance Ministry officials and representatives of the Reserve Bank of India.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
