This village has been adopted under Farmer First Project sponsored by ICAR, New Delhi and is running under the aegis of Directorate of Extension Education. Dr G. S. Buttar, Additional Director of Extension Education was the chief guest of this function that saw participation of more than 300 farmers. Faculty of KVK Kheri (Sangrur) and FASC (Sangrur) also participated in this programme. Expert from PAU, Dr Dilbag Singh dwelled on issues related to low tunnel cultivation of vegetables, choice of varieties and agronomic practices to obtain better yield and quality produce. Dr Amarjeet Singh (Plant Pathology) and Dr Yuvraj Singh (Entomology) told the farmers about various diseases and insects-pests infesting the vegetables and their control measures. Dr Tarsem Chand shed light on values addition and processing of vegetable crops. Dr Ranjit Singh discussed about animal husbandry as a subsidiary occupation for augmenting farm income.
