{"id":25880,"date":"2018-03-25T11:23:32","date_gmt":"2018-03-25T11:23:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/punjabnews24.com\/?p=25880"},"modified":"2018-03-25T11:23:32","modified_gmt":"2018-03-25T11:23:32","slug":"insurance-regulatory-body-extends-deadline-to-link-aadhaar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/insurance-regulatory-body-extends-deadline-to-link-aadhaar\/","title":{"rendered":"Insurance regulatory body extends deadline to link Aadhaar"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Insurance regulator Irdai has extended the deadline for linking 12-digit unique identity number Aadhaar with various insurance policies until the Supreme Court decides on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court of India in Writ Petition (vide order dated March 13) extended the deadline of linking Aadhaar till the matter is finally heard and the judgement is pronounced.<\/p>\n<p>The Irdai decision to indefinitely extend the March 31 deadline comes in wake of the Supreme Court order.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor existing insurance policies, the date of linking Aadhaar is extended till the matter is finally heard and the judgement is pronounced by Hon\u2019ble Supreme Court of India,\u201d the insurance regulator said in a circular to insurers.<\/p>\n<p>In case of new insurance polices, the regulator said the policy buyer is allowed six months from the date of commencement of account based relationship to submit the Aadhaar number and PAN\/Form 60 to the insurer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn absence of Aadhaar, client shall submit any of the officially valid document as mentioned in the Prevention of Money-Laundering (Maintenance of Records) Rules, 2005,\u201d said Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (Irdai).<\/p>\n<p>As per norms, Non-Resident Indian policy holders are not required to surrender their policy for not having Aadhaar number.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Insurance regulator Irdai has extended the deadline for linking 12-digit unique identity number Aadhaar with various insurance policies until the Supreme Court decides on the matter.
