{"id":28199,"date":"2018-04-16T12:14:24","date_gmt":"2018-04-16T12:14:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/punjabnews24.com\/?p=28199"},"modified":"2018-04-16T12:14:24","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T12:14:24","slug":"pope-francis-deeply-disturbed-by-lack-of-common-response-to-syria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/pope-francis-deeply-disturbed-by-lack-of-common-response-to-syria\/","title":{"rendered":"Pope Francis \u2018deeply disturbed\u2019 by lack of common response to Syria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pope Francis told the faithful in St. Peter\u2019s Square that he is \u201cdeeply disturbed\u201d by the international community\u2019s failure to come up with a common response to the crisis in Syria and other parts of the world. \u201cDespite the tools available to the international community, it is difficult to agree on a common action toward peace in Syria or other regions of the world,\u201d the pope told a crowd of 30,000 after his traditional Sunday blessing.<\/p>\n<p>Francis called on \u201call people of goodwill\u201d to join him in praying for peace, and appealed to political leaders to help \u201cjustice prevail.\u201d The Pope spoke after airstrikes by the United States, France and Britain aimed at taking out Syria\u2019s chemical weapons capacity. That followed a suspected poison gas attack by Syrian government forces on a rebel-held Damascus suburb that killed dozens, including children.<\/p>\n<p>The suffering in Syria has been top among the Pope\u2019s concerns.
