\nNine professors of Central University of Gujarat have denied attending Congress president Rahul Gandhi\u2019s programme.<\/p>\n
Their reaction has come after the university issued show-cause notice to them for canvassing for the anti-Bharatiya Janata Party candidates during the last Assembly elections.<\/p>\n
Sony Kunjappan, President, Central University of Gujarat Teachers\u2019 Association, says that the professors are being targeted.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think we are being targeted. The university should have first sought a clarification from us before issuing show-cause notice,\u201d Kunjappan said.<\/p>\n
He is among the nine professors who were served a show-cause notice.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe notice has been issued to us that we as teachers participated and campaigned for a political party .We have denied this,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The teachers\u2019 representative told ANI that the notice has been issued reportedly on the complaint of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad but it has denied giving such a complaint.<\/p>\n
The CUG Vice-Chancellor Syed Abdul Bari issued the show-cause notice while acting on the references forwarded by the Union Human Resource Development Ministry, office of the Gujarat Chief Electoral Officer and the state education department.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
