{"id":30665,"date":"2018-05-10T10:24:38","date_gmt":"2018-05-10T10:24:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/punjabnews24.com\/?p=30665"},"modified":"2018-05-10T10:24:38","modified_gmt":"2018-05-10T10:24:38","slug":"saudi%e2%80%89arabia-will-seek-nuclear-weapon-if-iran-does-foreign-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/saudi%e2%80%89arabia-will-seek-nuclear-weapon-if-iran-does-foreign-minister\/","title":{"rendered":"Saudi\u2009Arabia will seek nuclear weapon if Iran does: Foreign minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"story-details\">\n<p>Saudi Arabia will seek to develop its own nuclear weapons if Iran does, Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir told CNN on Wednesday, amid spiraling tension between the regional rivals.<\/p>\n<p>Asked whether Riyadh would \u201cbuild a bomb itself\u201d if Tehran seizes on Washington\u2019s withdrawal from the 2015 Iran deal to resume a nuclear weapons program, Jubeir said: \u201cIf Iran acquires nuclear capability we will do everything we can to do the same.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oil-rich Saudi Arabia has long said it would match any Iranian weapons development, but Jubeir\u2019s renewed vow came after US President Donald Trump pulled the United States out of an accord designed to prevent Tehran\u2019s alleged quest for the bomb.<\/p>\n<p>And it came amid growing tension between the Sunni kingdom and the Shiite Islamic republic over Iran\u2019s support for the Huthi rebels in Yemen, who have been firing rockets across the border.<\/p>\n<div id=\"zdt_display_placeholder_364294\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"zdt_display_placeholder_2949271\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"zdt_3644892_1_wrapper\"><\/div>\n<p>Riyadh, which leads a regional coalition that intervened in Yemen\u2019s civil war to fight the Huthis, accuses Iran of supplying the militia with ballistic missiles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese missiles are Iranian manufactured and delivered to the Huthis. Such behaviour is unacceptable. It violates UN Resolutions with regards to ballistic missiles. And the Iranians must be held accountable for this,\u201d Jubeir told CNN.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will find the right way and at the right time to respond to this,\u201d he warned. \u201cWe are trying to avoid at all costs direct military action with Iran, but Iran\u2019s behaviour such as this cannot continue.
