In his closing remarks President Ram Nath Kovind noted that Tuesday is the World Environment Day and said that the approach of &#8216;Think Global, Act Local&#8217; is considered effective for environment protection.<\/p>\n<p>He underlined the importance of local and state-level contributions in achieving national goals.The President exhorted Governors to take the lead in adopting modern technology and methods. He said that Governors can inspire universities towards USR or the University Social Responsibility and advocated that University students should visit villages at regular intervals. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the concluding session of the Conference and called upon Governors to strengthen the &#8220;Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat&#8221; initiative.<\/p>\n<p>He also emphasized the need to build new ways to promote harmony and integration among the various States of India.The Prime Minister urged Governors, in their capacity as Chancellors, to call upon Universities to promote excellence in various spheres of academics.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister said that the Union Government is working towards promoting &#8220;ease of living&#8221; for the common man.
