Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the international convention of Saurashtra Patel Cultural Samaj of the United States through video conferencing on Friday.<\/p>\n
He said that Non-Resident Indians living abroad are making India proud with their work in different countries around the globe.<\/p>\n
Addressing the Saurashtra Patel Cultural Samaj Program, Prime Minister hailed the NRI comunity worldwide as rashtradoots or ambassadors of the nation.<\/p>\n
He said that it is because of the success stories of Indians living abroad, that India is looked up to with great respect. Prime Minister slammed the opposition for maligning India’s image globally.<\/p>\n
Without naming any party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Sardar Valabh Bhai Patel’s contributions to nation building were pushed under the carpet for selfish political gains.<\/p>\n
He said that his government alongwith the Gujarat government has set out to undo this injustice. A statue of the Iron man will be completed by 31st October this year to mark the Jayanti of Sardar Patel. It will be tallest statue in the world.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that respect for the Indian Passport has increased across the world. Prime Minister also appealed to NRIs to motivate 5 foreign families to visit India.<\/p>\n
He said India is acknowledged as a global leader because of the steps it has taken to combat climate change.<\/p>\n
