\nLaunching another attack against the Badals, Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Sunday alleged that the much-hyped investment summit of 2015 organised by the SAD-BJP government had fetched only Rs 6,500 crore against the announced MoUs worth Rs 1.21 lakh crore.<\/p>\n
Sidhu claimed that only 46 of 391 parties who had signed the pacts actually came forward to invest in the state. Even those who were close to the Badals, including MLA NK Sharma and Mohali Mayor Kulwant Singh, did not invest a single penny. Large corporations, which had promised big investments, including GVK (Rs 5,000 crore), DLF ( Rs 9,200 crore), Reliance Jio (Rs 3,500 crore), CVC Infra India (Rs 5,000 crore), also backed out.<\/p>\n
Youth Congress activist and advocate Daljit Gilzian claimed that the investment summit of 2013 too was a flop show. He alleged that it had mentioned certain names like Bajwa Developers of Sunny Enclave (Kharar), who had already completed their projects.<\/p>\n
Earlier last week, Sidhu had charged the then CM Parkash Singh Badal and SAD chief Sukhbir Badal of making an unjustified expenditure of more than Rs 128 crore on helicopter and chartered flights during their 10-year tenure.<\/p>\n
