PV Sindhu has been a force to be reckoned with in badminton over the last one year. The Indian shuttler performed consistently and was able to reach the finals of five major tournaments including the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. However, it has been her form in the finals that has earned her a bit of criticism from both experts and fans.<\/p>\n
Sindhu finished second at this year\u2019s World Championships after losing to Olympic champion Carolina Marin in the title clash. It was her second defeat in the summit clash as she had lost an epic final against Okuhara at Glasgow last year. In 2018, she was defeated in the final on all three occasions and at the Commonwealth Games, she had to settle for silver after losing to compatriot Saina Nehwal.<\/p>\n
However, Sindhu believes that the criticism is not justified and the 23-year old took to social media to hit back at her critics after winning silver at the Badminton World Championships.<\/p>\n
In the Instagram post, Sindhu posed with her silver medal with a quote from wrestler Doug Williams which read: \u201cNever give up, never give in, and when the upper hand is ours, may we have the ability to handle the win with the dignity that we absorbed the loss\u201d<\/p>\n
She added in the caption: \u201cIt brings me immense amount of pleasure to bring back the silver consecutively 2nd year in the BWF world championships. I didn\u2019t lose the gold, I won the silver and I can proudly say my silver sparkles.\u201d<\/p>\n
