Israeli\u00a0Prime Minister\u00a0Benjamin Netanyahu\u00a0on Sunday said\u00a0Israel\u00a0will continue to fight\u00a0Hamas\u00a0in\u00a0Gaza\u00a0before a \u201ccomplete cease-fire\u201d is achieved.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are in the midst of a campaign against terror in\u00a0Gaza.\u00a0It entails an exchange of blows,\u201d Netanyahu told his weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem, adding that the recent flare-up of violence \u201cwill not end in one strike,\u201d\u00a0media\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n
He said that during last week\u2019s massive airstrikes in the\u00a0Gaza\u00a0Strip, the\u00a0Israeli air force\u00a0has \u201cdestroyed hundreds of\u00a0Hamas\u00a0military targets.\u201d He added that \u201cin each round, the\u00a0Israel\u00a0Defense Forces exacts an additional heavy price.\u201d<\/p>\n
He stressed that\u00a0Israel\u00a0is ready to continue the strikes. \u201cI will not reveal here our operational plans, they are ready,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur demand is clear \u2014 a complete cease-fire. We will not suffice with less than this,\u201d he said. \u201cOur objective is to restore the quiet to residents of the south and the area adjacent to the Gaza Strip; this goal will be achieved in full.\u201d<\/p>\n
Last week, Israel and\u00a0Hamas\u00a0exchanged blows, with Israel striking hundreds of sites in Gaza, killing three people including a woman and her baby, while Gaza militants launched dozens of rockets towards\u00a0southern Israel.<\/p>\n
