\nActing on a contempt petition alleging that Kapurthala SSP\u0010Sandeep Kumar is purposely not initiating action as \u201chighly placed\u201d political leaders are backing Radhe Maa, the Punjab and Haryana High Court today issued notice of motion to the officer.<\/p>\n
The notice by Justice Daya Chaudhary came on a petition filed by Surinder Mittal. He was seeking directions for initiating contempt proceedings against the officer for the alleged willful disobedience of order passed by the High Court on December 15, 2015.<\/p>\n
Radhe Maa, aka Sukhvinder Kaur, is a \u201cspiritual leader\u201d based in Borivali suburb of Mumbai. In his petition, Mittal alleged that it was clear that the respondent had intentionally violated the HC\u0010order and made himself liable to be proceeded against under the contempt of court Act.<\/p>\n
Mittal\u2019s counsel had told the High Court in December 2015 that Sukhwinder Kaur by posing herself as an incarnation of a Hindu goddess had hurt his religious sentiments. His counsel KS Dadwal had added that the allegations mentioned in his complaint constituted cognisable offence, warranting an inquiry or registration of FIR.<\/p>\n
Taking up the matter, the Bench had observed that the arguments raised by the counsel for the petitioner regarding commission of offence on the basis of the material in the complaint appeared to be debatable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
