{"id":40270,"date":"2018-08-26T12:09:35","date_gmt":"2018-08-26T12:09:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=40270"},"modified":"2018-08-26T12:09:35","modified_gmt":"2018-08-26T12:09:35","slug":"fraud-hit-punjab-national-bank-ranked-best-public-sector-bank-for-digital-transactions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/fraud-hit-punjab-national-bank-ranked-best-public-sector-bank-for-digital-transactions\/","title":{"rendered":"Fraud-hit Punjab National Bank ranked best public-sector bank for digital transactions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Punjab National Bank, which was recently hit by a multi billion dollar fraud by manipulation of its financial messaging Swift system, has been ranked as the best PSU bank in the overall digital transactions category in India.<\/p>\n<p>The bank said in a statement on Saturday: \u201cBased on the recent findings of DFS , PNB is ranked the number 1 PSU bank in digital transactions in India.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A Rs 13,500-crore fraud came to light in January, when it was found that the financial messaging system SWIFT was manipulated. It was used to issue Letters of Undertakings to conduct the fraud.<\/p>\n<p>In the aftermath of the fraud, the bank had to rectify and strengthen its internal controls.<\/p>\n<p>According to the PNB statement, the report card on the banking sector\u2019s performance in digital transactions as on July 31, 2018 was prepared by the Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n<p>As per the DFS\u2019 findings, PNB\u2019s average percentage of technical declines is only 0.83 per cent of the total transactions.<\/p>\n<p>It has been rated as the sixth best in the overall category amongst all banks in India for digital performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe bank is fully committed to \u2018Digital India\u2019 initiative,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Punjab National Bank, which was recently hit by a multi billion dollar fraud by manipulation of its financial messaging Swift system, has been ranked as the best PSU bank in the overall digital transactions category in India.
