{"id":40718,"date":"2018-08-31T11:18:33","date_gmt":"2018-08-31T11:18:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=40718"},"modified":"2018-08-31T11:18:33","modified_gmt":"2018-08-31T11:18:33","slug":"imran-khan-pays-first-visit-to-pakistan-army-headquarters-for-security-briefing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/imran-khan-pays-first-visit-to-pakistan-army-headquarters-for-security-briefing\/","title":{"rendered":"Imran Khan pays first visit to Pakistan army headquarters for security briefing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pakistan\u2019s new Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said his first visit to the army headquarters in the garrison city of Rawalpindi where he was briefed on the security issues.<\/p>\n<p>Khan, the Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), won the July 25 general election amidst the perception that the Pakistan Army, a major player in Pakistan\u2019s politics, has thrown its weight behind his party.<\/p>\n<p>The prime minister was accompanied by Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, Foreign Affairs Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Asad Umar among others.<\/p>\n<p>Khan was received by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters, Army spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrime Minister (is) being briefed on defence, internal security and other professional matters,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, General Bajwa had the first formal meeting with Prime Minister Khan, who was sworn-in as the 22nd premier of Pakistan on August 18, and discussed the security situation in the country as well as the efforts to ensure long-lasting peace and stability in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Bajwa had congratulated Khan on assuming the top ministerial job during their meeting.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pakistan\u2019s new Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said his first visit to the army headquarters in the garrison city of Rawalpindi where he was briefed on the security issues.
