{"id":40857,"date":"2018-09-01T12:02:00","date_gmt":"2018-09-01T12:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=40857"},"modified":"2018-09-01T12:02:00","modified_gmt":"2018-09-01T12:02:00","slug":"sc-quashes-criminal-case-against-wink-varrier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/sc-quashes-criminal-case-against-wink-varrier\/","title":{"rendered":"SC quashes criminal case against &#8216;wink&#8217; Varrier"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi<br \/>\nThe Supreme Court on Friday quashed an FIR against 18-year-old Malayalam actor Priya Prakash Varrier, director and producer of \u2018Oru Adaar Love\u2019 which alleged the \u2018wink song\u2019 in the film hurt religious sentiments of Muslims.<\/p>\n<p>The Malayalam folk song, on which the song has been picturised with Varrier, has been in the public domain since 1978 and the song video cannot be termed as blasphemous, said a three-judge Bench headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, allowing their plea to quash the FIR lodged against them in Telangana.
