{"id":41272,"date":"2018-09-05T11:56:08","date_gmt":"2018-09-05T11:56:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=41272"},"modified":"2018-09-05T11:56:08","modified_gmt":"2018-09-05T11:56:08","slug":"1-dead-25-hurt-in-kolkata-bridge-collapse","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/1-dead-25-hurt-in-kolkata-bridge-collapse\/","title":{"rendered":"1 dead, 25 hurt in Kolkata bridge collapse"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In West Bengal, at least one person was killed while 25 others injured when a portion of the arterial Majerhat bridge in south Kolkata collapsed on Tuesday evening, trapping several people and crushing many vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>The 40-year-old bridge in the crowded Alipore area caved in during rush hour over rail tracks.<\/p>\n<p>Train movement was temporarily suspended on the Majerhat road after the bridge collapse.<\/p>\n<p>The Railway Ministry, however, said the maintenance of the collapsed portion of the bridge was not under railway jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<p>President Ram Nath Kovind expressed his concern in a tweet. He said, &#8220;Sorry to learn of the partial collapse of the Majerhat bridge in Kolkata.
