United States President Donald Trump Wednesday said he was \u201camazingly alone\u201d within his administration on the issue that America be reimbursed for the \u201cmassive cost\u201d of protecting other immensely wealthy countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re protecting immensely wealthy countries and they\u2019re not paying us for the protections. I say why are we protecting you when you\u2019re very wealthy and you wouldn\u2019t be here for two weeks if it wasn\u2019t for us? Why aren\u2019t we being reimbursed for this massive cost? Fully reimbursed for this massive cost that we\u2019re taking care of,\u201d Trump told \u2018The Daily Caller\u2019, a Washington-based news and opinion website.<\/p>\n
\u201cAmazingly, a lot of generals don\u2019t understand it. A lot of people don\u2019t understand it,\u201d he said, adding \u201conce you say it three or four times people say \u2018wow he\u2019s right about that\u2019. I mean I could go country after country, but I won\u2019t embarrass them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI mean, and I say to myself, \u2018okay you have a country, it\u2019s immensely wealthy, we\u2019re guarding it. We\u2019re spending tremendous amounts, billions of dollars to guard and they\u2019re not reimbursing us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
