\nClaiming that Indian Army has tackled and contained effectively terrorism emanating from across the border, Chief of Army Staff Gen Bipin Rawat on Saturday asserted that Pakistan is getting ‘isolated at international level’ and that US was mounting pressure on it.
\nBefore addressing the media, Rawat took a salute and inspected the parade of 61 Cavalry soldiers participating in the centenary celebrations to commemorate 100 years of liberation of Haifa in Israel by the Indian troops in 1918.<\/p>\n
“The way Indian Army acted and held ‘surgical strike’ against Pakistan, one has to see that Pakistan is now isolated at the international level. America (USA) which was so “saga sambandhi” (a close relative) of Pakistan is now very aggressive and mounting pressure. It means some strong action has been taken by India,” the General told media.
\nOn India cancelling the meeting of foreign ministers of the two countries, Rawat categorically said, ” The fact is that talks and terrorism can not go hand in hand. We are following the defence policy. Pakistan needs to curb menace of terrorism, and not allow its soil to be used by terrorist against our people.”<\/p>\n
“This kind of barbaric act that terrorists of Pakistan with the support of Army are carrying out regularly against our soldiers is not acceptable. There is need to change a strategy and such important issues and agenda will be taken up for discussion at ‘Unified Commander Conference’ to be held in Jodhpur from September 27-29,” he said.<\/p>\n
On ‘surgical strike day celebration’ on September 29, Rawat said it was first of its kind operation that Indian soldiers completed successfully last year. “It was not an easy task as it was planned and executed on the land of enemy.”<\/p>\n
“I cannot disclose how many times Indian Army has taken action against them in last one year but we have not acted in a barbaric manner as the terrorists supported by Pakistan army have been doing,” he justified.<\/p>\n
“If barbaric terrorist activities continued from other side, we will be required to take some other actions to cub it… we will not allow such inhumane acts,” he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
