{"id":44404,"date":"2018-10-13T11:59:26","date_gmt":"2018-10-13T11:59:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=44404"},"modified":"2018-10-13T11:59:26","modified_gmt":"2018-10-13T11:59:26","slug":"do-you-want-everybody-in-india-to-become-vegetarian-sc-asks-petitioner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/do-you-want-everybody-in-india-to-become-vegetarian-sc-asks-petitioner\/","title":{"rendered":"Do you want everybody in India to become vegetarian, SC asks petitioner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi<br \/>\n\u201cDo you want everybody in this country to be vegetarian?\u201d the Supreme Court on Friday asked a petitioner who has challenged export of meat from India.<\/p>\n<p>A Bench of Justices Madan B Lokur and Deepak Gupta made this observation while hearing a public interest litigation which said that export of meat cannot be encouraged or promoted in the country.<br \/>\n\u201cWe cannot pass an order that everyone should become vegetarian,\u201d the Bench told the counsel appearing for the petitioner organisation.<\/p>\n<p>The counsel told the court that this matter should be heard after which the Bench posted it for hearing in February.The court also dealt with a separate petition filed by the organisation on the issue of promoting organic farming in the country.<\/p>\n<p>At the outset, the Bench said that this issue was for the government to decide.<\/p>\n<p>The petitioner\u2019s counsel told the court that they have already raised this issue before the government but no steps have been taken in this regard.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi \u201cDo you want everybody in this country to be vegetarian?\u201d the Supreme Court on Friday asked a petitioner who has challenged export of meat from India.
