{"id":45285,"date":"2018-10-24T11:01:46","date_gmt":"2018-10-24T11:01:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=45285"},"modified":"2018-10-24T11:01:46","modified_gmt":"2018-10-24T11:01:46","slug":"us-lawmakers-seek-information-on-chinese-interference-in-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/us-lawmakers-seek-information-on-chinese-interference-in-elections\/","title":{"rendered":"US lawmakers seek information on Chinese interference in elections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three top Democratic lawmakers, including Indian origin Senator Kamala Harris, have sought information from the government on President Donald Trump\u2019s allegation of Chinese efforts to meddle in US elections.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter to the Director of National Intelligence, Daniel Coats, the senators Ron Wyden, Martin Heinrich and Harris asked whether the US intelligence supports Trump\u2019s claims that China interfered in the 2016 presidential elections.<\/p>\n<p>The letter follows up on a previous October 4 communication in which the three senators had inquired whether the president\u2019s statement that China was attempting to interfere in the upcoming 2018 mid-term polls was consistent with the assessments of the Intelligence Community .<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn addition to providing a public response to that inquiry, we ask that you address whether the President\u2019s statement on 60 Minutes that China \u201cmeddled\u201d in the 2016 US election is consistent with IC assessments,\u201d the Senators said.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, at a UN Security Council meeting, Trump had alleged that China was trying to interfere in the US elections.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three top Democratic lawmakers, including Indian origin Senator Kamala Harris, have sought information from the government on President Donald Trump\u2019s allegation of Chinese efforts to meddle in US elections.
