The &#8216;Vigilance Awareness Week\u2019 would be observed across the state from October 29 to November 3.<\/p>\n<p>Disclosing this here today, B.K. Uppal, ADGP-cum-Chief Director Vigilance Bureau said this outreach activity is aimed to spread awareness among the public to play a crucial role in eradicating corruption from the society. This awareness week would be seen as our continuous effort to involve public as active participants in ensuring a \u2018corruption free state\u2019 and also inspire the officers to implement preventive measures effectively so that transparency and accountability could be maintained.<\/p>\n<p>He added that basic motto of this awareness week was to create a corruption free society under the theme of \u2018Eradicate Corruption- Build A New India&#8217; as conceived by the Central Vigilance Commission. The Vigilance Bureau, therefore, lays greater emphasis on generation of awareness among the public as a more effective and sustainable means of fighting corruption, he stressed.<\/p>\n<p>On the commencement of vigilance awareness week Director Vigilance Bureau Nageswara Rao administered integrity pledge to all officers and employees of the bureau. He asked the subordinate staff to work efficiently and clear the backlog of pending vigilance cases.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile vigilance awareness week was also organised in all vigilance ranges and sub divisions where field officers administered oath of integrity to vigilance staff.
