\nFormer Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti on Monday ruled out challenging the dismissal of the J&K Assembly by the Governor.<\/p>\n
Since the controversial dismissal of the Assembly on November 21, which has been widely criticised and termed unconstitutional, demands have been coming from different corners that the PDP should challenge the decision before the Supreme Court. The Governor had, however, justified the dissolution of the Assembly.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome sincere suggestions from well wishers for me to go to court against Governor\u2019s dissolution of the Assembly. The PDP, NC, INC had come together to safeguard state interests. It is my considered opinion that we must go to people\u2019s court, which is superior to any other forum,\u201d Mehbooba said in a tweet.<\/p>\n
Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Lone, who had also staked claim for government formation after the PDP-led \u0007grand alliance took the step, dared Mehbooba \u0007to challenge the \u0007dissolution of the state Assembly in court.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe would be more than glad to prove our numbers on the floor of the Assembly,\u201d Lone, an ally of the BJP who is trying to create a \u2018third front\u2019 in the Valley, had said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
