\nGovernor Satya Pal Malik on Monday said politicians were using \u201cwrong term\u201d for the Army\u2019s counter-insurgency operations in Kashmir, saying \u201cThere is nothing like Operation All-out in Jammu and Kashmir\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cPoliticians are using a wrong term. There is no term like \u2018Operation All-out\u2019 in J&K. When terrorists open fire or throw grenades, this is not possible that we will reciprocate them with bouquets of flowers,\u201d Malik told reporters after inaugurating an open air gymnasium and musical fountain at Rajinder Singh Park here. The park is maintained by J&K Bank.<\/p>\n
Malik was reacting to the recent statement of National Conference president Farooq Abdullah who had said his party would not support the Army\u2019s \u2018Operation All-out\u2019 against the militants in Kashmir if voted to power.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want these youth should return and we are ready to do whatever we can do. They should shut the path of violence and gun. They must understand that the path of violence will achieve them nothing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Asked about the NC chief\u2019s demand for constitution of a \u201ctruth and reconciliation commission\u201d for a thorough probe into civilian killings in Kashmir, the Governor said it was not appropriate for him to comment on his statement.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe makes a new statement every day and changes it next day. He is a senior leader and I respect him. It would not be appropriate for me to comment on his remarks,\u201d Malik said.<\/p>\n
To another query, Malik said political compulsions made Kashmir-based politicians \u201cmake pro-separatists and pro-militants\u201d statements. \u201cAll of them are political people. They have certain political compulsions. In this country, the people can do anything for the vote-bank politics,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
