\nInsisting that building a wall is the only solution to prevent the flow of illegal immigrants and drugs inside the US, President Donald Trump on Thursday said that he want people to come to America based on merit.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want people to come in based on merit. We want people to come in that can help us successfully run all these companies that are pouring into the US because of what we\u2019ve done and because of all of the incentives, that we\u2019ve given, and because this is where the action is,\u201d Trump told reporters at a White House meeting with Republican leaders and administration officials on immigration proposal.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a lot of people that, really, we need. We have the lowest unemployment rate we\u2019ve had in much more than 50 years, with African American, with Asian American, with Hispanic American. We have the lowest unemployment rate we\u2019ve had in the history of our country,\u201d the US President said.<\/p>\n
Trump has sought USD 5.7 billion from the Congress to fund the construction of his wall. The opposition Democrats have blocked that, resulting in a partial government shutdown for 33 days now.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause of the strong economy, everyone is pouring up, and we\u2019re stopping them. But it\u2019s a lot of work,\u201d he said and alleged that \u201cradical Democrats\u201d don\u2019t want the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the Senate floor, Minority leader Chuck Schumer alleged that Trump\u2019s proposal demands a wall and radical legal immigration changes in exchange for opening up the government.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe president says, totally incorrectly, misstating all the facts, that we need a big wall for our security. Well, even if he succeeds, which he won\u2019t, I believe, it would take years to build that wall,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
