President Ramnath Kovind says in the last four and a half years, Government infuses new hope and confidence among the people; addresses joint sitting of both the houses of the Parliament on first day of the Budget session.<\/p>\n
Budget session of Parliament started with the President Ram Nath Kovind’s address. President addressed the joint session of both houses of Parliament on the opening day of the Budget session. In his address, the President has said that the government has taken a pledge for a New India and to make life better for common people. The government has taken numerous steps to ensure social and economic development of the country in the last four-and-a-half years and to provide health care and education to all.<\/p>\n
The President further said that the winter session of Parliament saw the passage of the 103rd constitution amendment bill which extends benefit of reservation to poor and he termed it as a historic decision.<\/p>\n
He further elaborated on many social sector initiatives of the government. He said that now, many families in the country can now realise their dream of having home under PM Awas Yojana.<\/p>\n
President lauded Ayushman Bharat Yojana and said that in the past 3 months, over 10 lakh poor have benefitted from this scheme.President said that the Saubhagya Yojana has electrified 2 crore 47 lakh homes in the country. HE said that government has been successful in its target of providing electricity to all households.<\/p>\n
Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the day. Making an obituary reference, Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu said that with passing away of former members George Fernandes and Sitaram Singh, the country has lost able parliamentarians, a social worker, veteran freedom fighter and trade union leader.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
