West Indies cricketer Darren Bravo hailed soon-to-be-retired batsman Chris Gayle as \u201chero to the young players\u201d and termed his playing experience with the swashbuckling batsman as \u201cpriceless\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recently, Gayle announced that he would retire from the one-day international cricket after the World Cup which is slated to be held in England and Wales, later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe\u2019s definitely a hero to the young players. Not even a hero; he\u2019s a legend. The experience of having Chris in the dressing room is priceless. He puts a smile on each and every player\u2019s face. And, as you can see when we go out there, we really enjoy our cricket,\u201d ICC quoted Bravo, as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf you look at the stats, he\u2019s achieved a lot at the international level. He\u2019s a special player. We\u2019re really happy to have him,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe\u2019s getting on a bit in age, but he\u2019s still striking the ball nicely, so that is the most important thing,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd in the dressing room, he\u2019s always giving information, he\u2019s helping all the youngsters. I think over the last few years he\u2019s changed the game a little bit. He\u2019s not going so hard as before. He understands his game pretty well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs long as it all goes well, as far as his approach is concerned, I don\u2019t see any reason we can\u2019t consistently cross the 300 mark,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
