{"id":55972,"date":"2019-02-27T11:16:17","date_gmt":"2019-02-27T11:16:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=55972"},"modified":"2019-02-27T11:16:18","modified_gmt":"2019-02-27T11:16:18","slug":"former-sri-lanka-cricket-captain-sanath-jayasuriya-banned-from-all-cricket-for-two-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/former-sri-lanka-cricket-captain-sanath-jayasuriya-banned-from-all-cricket-for-two-years\/","title":{"rendered":"Former Sri Lanka Cricket captain Sanath Jayasuriya banned from all cricket for two years"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Former Sri Lanka Cricket captain Sanath Jayasuriya has been \nbanned from all cricket for two years after he admitted of breaching two\n counts of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.<\/strong><br><br>ICC said in a \nstatement today that Mr Jayasuriya, admitted to being in breach of the \nprovisions for failure or refusal to cooperate in investigations and \nobstructing or delaying it.<br>It said the conviction demonstrates the \nimportance of participants in cricket cooperating with investigations \nand these rules are essential to maintain the integrity of sport.<br>The\n statement said the conviction is the latest part of a much broader ICC \ninvestigation into corruption in cricket in Sri Lanka. It said the ICC \nrecently held an amnesty in relation to Sri Lankan Cricket resulting in \neleven players and other participants coming forward with new \ninformation.<br>Sri Lankan cricket has been under investigation by ICC \nfor last few years and Mr. Jayasurya was served a notice few months \nback.
