{"id":56220,"date":"2019-03-02T11:52:15","date_gmt":"2019-03-02T11:52:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=56220"},"modified":"2019-03-02T11:52:16","modified_gmt":"2019-03-02T11:52:16","slug":"lok-sabha-polls-will-be-held-on-time-says-cec-sunil-arora","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/lok-sabha-polls-will-be-held-on-time-says-cec-sunil-arora\/","title":{"rendered":"Lok Sabha polls will be held on time, says CEC Sunil Arora"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The General Election in the country will be held on time, Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said on Friday, amid tensions between India and Pakistan.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CEC is in the Uttar Pradesh capital for the past two days to review poll preparations in the state.\u201cThe election in the country will be held on time,\u201d Arora told reporters here when asked about the poll schedule in the wake of tensions between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said as per a new notification of the commission, candidates will have to give details of their properties abroad, besides those in the country. \u201cThe I-T Department will look into it and, if any, discrepancies are found then it will be uploaded on the Election Commission website and strict action will be initiated,\u201d the CEC said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When asked about the EC\u2019s stand on inflammatory speeches, Arora said in his review meetings, he tried to find out the status of such cases lodged during previous elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhatever the EC has found, I have apprised about its intentions to the chief secretary and the DGP, who assured that strict action will be taken in such cases,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The commission is committed to holding free and fair polls, and will promptly act on any complaint regarding this, the CEC said.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The General Election in the country will be held on time, Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said on Friday, amid tensions between India and Pakistan.
