{"id":56569,"date":"2019-03-07T09:49:25","date_gmt":"2019-03-07T09:49:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/?p=56569"},"modified":"2019-03-07T09:49:27","modified_gmt":"2019-03-07T09:49:27","slug":"akalis-failed-to-even-take-care-of-guru-ghars-during-their-misrule-says-capt-amarinder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blastingskyhawk.com\/english\/akalis-failed-to-even-take-care-of-guru-ghars-during-their-misrule-says-capt-amarinder\/","title":{"rendered":"AKALIS FAILED TO EVEN TAKE CARE OF \u2018GURU GHARS\u2019 DURING THEIR MISRULE, SAYS CAPT AMARINDER"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>ANNOUNCES MUNICIPAL COMMITTEE STATUS FOR CHAMKAUR SAHIB, LAYS FOUNDATION STONE FOR SRI GURU GOBIND SINGH SKILLS INSTITUTE<\/strong><br>Sri Chamkaur Sahib <br>Punjab\n Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday lashed out at the \nAkalis for not taking care of even the \u2018Guru Ghars\u2019 during their 10-year\n of destructive rule, while announcing a slew of development projects \nfor Chamkaur Sahib, including in-principle approval for the region\u2019s \nupgradation as a Municipal Committee (MC).<br><br>The Chief Minister was\n here to lay the foundation stone of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Skills \nInstitute, as a constituent college of Inder Kumar Gujral Punjab \nTechnical University. The project is part of the government\u2019s plans to \nspruce up the infrastructure in the holy city of Sri Chamkaur Sahib.<br><br>The\n Chief Minister also announced construction of two gates in the city in \nthe name of the \u2018Bade\u2019 Sahibzadas, Baba Ajit Singh and Baba Jujhar \nSingh.<br><br>Recalling that his government had constructed the memorial\n of 40 Muktas in Muktsar and four gates at Fatehgarh Sahib, Captain \nAmarinder Singh said the Akalis had failed to do anything for any \nsection of the society during their decade-long misrule. They had, in \nfact, ruined the state\u2019s economy, he added.<br><br>The Chief Minister \nalso initiated two more development works worth Rs.15.11 crore, \nincluding beautification and facade development projects at a cost of \nRs.11.50 crore and strengthening &amp; upgradation of Sri Guru Gobind \nSingh Marg at an estimated cost of Rs. 3.61 crore.<br><br>The Chief \nMinister, who paid obeisance at the Chamkaur Sahib earlier, said the \nshortage of parking space and proper roads around the gurdwara had been \nbrought to his notice. He announced an additional Rs. 4 crores to Rs.11 \ncrore already sanctioned for the Galliara scheme.<br><br>Underlining the\n importance of equipping youngsters with the skills needed to become \nemployable, the Chief Minister said the Institute would provide the \nrequisite skills to youngsters irrespective of their educational \nbackground. It would be built at a cost of Rs.500 crore, of which Rs. \n100 crore would go into construction and the remaining would be spent on\n machinery, equipment, furniture and other infrastructure. He said that \nPublic Works Department would finalise the layout and the construction \nwould be completed in a phased manner.<br><br>Pointing to the revival of\n industry in the state, he said industrial units needed skilled people \nwho can work with their hands. Money will not be allowed to be a \nconstraint for the development of new colleges and universities, Captain\n Amarinder Singh added. The proposed Punjab Skill University (PSU) would\n provide nationally\/internationally acknowledged training and \ncertification, he further announced, underscoring the importance of \nskills training.<br><br>Reiterating his pledge to target 1000 jobs for \nyouth a day, the Chief Minister disclosed that under the Ghar Ghar \nRozgar &amp; Karobar Mission, as many as 808 youth got employment just \nyesterday under government\/private\/self-employment schemes. <br><br>Noting\n that the last time link roads were repaired in the state was in 2006 \nduring his earlier tenure, he said his government had already spent \nRs.32000 crore on repair of such roads and would be spending another \nRs.30000 crore this year.<br><br>Giving details of the other projects, \nCaptain Amarinder Singh said facade beautification under \u2018Swadesh \nDarshan Scheme\u2019 would be implemented at a cost of Rs.11.50 crore, which \nincludes beautification of Chowk connecting Morinda-Bela Road and \nSanduan Road at a cost Rs.30 lakh, parking along with basic utilities \nfor Rs.5 crore, facade development of market &amp; improvement of \npremises in front of Gurdwara Sri Katalgarh Sahib worth Rs.5 crore, \nbesides improvement of premises and parking at Gurdwara Sri Garhi Sahib \nat Rs.1.20 crore.<br><br>He also laid the foundation stone for \nstrengthening and upgradation of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Marg (Section- \nVillage Singh to Sri Chamkaur Sahib) at a cost of Rs.3.61 crore, to be \ncompleted within eight months.<br><br>The chief minister said that his \ngovernment would also complete the Theme Park at a cost of Rs. 14 \nCrores. He said the work for this park was started by him in 2006 but \nwas stopped by the Akali government.<br><br>Earlier, Technical Education\n Minister Charanjit Singh Channi spoke about the historic and religious \nsignificance of Sri Chamkaur Sahib and pointed out that even during his \nprevious term, Captain Amarinder Singh had given a major boost to its \ndevelopment and had upgraded it as Sub Division. He urged the Chief \nMinister to come out with a lift irrigation project for the area.<br><br>Addressing\n the gathering, PWD Minister Vijay Inder Singh Singla said that it was a\n historic day for Sri Chamkaur Sahib with the launch of various \ndevelopment works. He said that at a cost of Rs. 55 crore, 400 km \nstretches of roads were being laid and repaired in Sri Chamkaur Sahib.<br><br>Local\n Government Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu said that Congress Government \nwas committed to the region\u2019s holistic development besides providing all\n basic amenities in the area.
