The filmmaker, who gave an Indian flavour to Shakespearean tragedies\u2018Macbeth\u2019 , \u2018Othello\u2019 and \u2018Hamlet\u2019 , is confident that \u2018Midnight\u2019s Children\u2019, which has already been made into a film by Deepa Mehta, is best suited for the series format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAll the adaptation and work I have done before is nothing compared to this. It is a beautiful piece of work and one of the best books I have ever read. I feel very blessed that I am given this chance but at the same time I am very scared. I hope I will be able to do justice to it,\u201d Bhardwaj .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYes, I met him. He wanted to know my take on the adaptation. When I told him about my vision for his material, he was very happy. He said, \u2018You are the right person because this vision is so unique to the book\u2019,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bhardwaj last directed \u2018Pataakha\u2019, about two warring sisters, which was a small project compared to his big budget, star-driven movies and the filmmaker said it was intentionally so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt was supposed to be a small film. I wanted to be very authentic. The story is about two sisters, a relationship that is rarely explored in films. That\u2019s why I wanted to keep that mood and the pace of characters and story alive.
