Global\n Sikh Council (GSC) has appealed that all religious and spiritual \ninstitutions and its affairs should be fully free from politicization \nand Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee should not be used as a \nladder to meet the political ends of any political party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GSC\n during its three-day conference and AGM held under the presidency of \nLady Singh Dr. Kanwaljit Kaur at Jakarta, Indonesia, has unanimously \npassed three resolutions and resolved that all religious affairs of the \nSGPC should be done by the servants of the committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GSC \nmembers from 27 different countries has categorically reiterated the \norder of Guru Gobind Singh ji which clearly enshrines that Guruta Gaddi \n(Guruship) was entrusted to Sri Guru Granth Sahib and no other religious\n book should be placed or worshiped parallel to Sri Guru Granth Sahib \nJi. \u201cBachittar Natak, Dasam Granth or any other religious book should \nnot be considered tantamount to Guru Granth Sahib ji. So all Sikhs \nshould follow and respect “One Granth, one Panth and one Rehat Maryada \npublished in 1946,\u201d resolved GSC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Council in its third \nresolution expressed concern over the plight of Sikhs residing in \nAfghanistan and exhorted the Sikhs and administration that concerted \nefforts should be initiated for rehabilitation of Afghan Sikhs suffering\n from terrorism. The Council resolved to interact with the Afghan \nGovernment about the rehabilitation of Sikhs taking shelter in \nGurdwaras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Legislator and eminent lawyer Harvinder Singh Phoolka \n(Padma Shri awardee) presided over the meeting as chief guest and shared\n the difficulties faced during the 36 years long legal battle to get \nconviction of perpetrators of 1984 Sikh genocide in Delhi including \nformer Congress leader Sajjan Kumar and others. He also appealed to the \nSikhs living in different countries to get the help of local activists \nto disseminate the true message of Gurus for free service to the \nhumanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this occasion, HS Dhillon, Member of Indonesian \nParliament thanked all the delegates and lauded the efforts of the GSC \nto discuss Sikh issues at the world stage.On the occasion Kanwaljit \nSingh Bakshi, Member of New Zealand parliament shared the efforts being \nmade by the Sikhs living in New Zealand for free social service and \npromotion of mother tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Describing the actual role of Sri \nAkal Takht Sahib, President of Gurdwara Council of Malaysia Jagir Singh \nstressed that only local issues should be resolved from other local \nTakhts. Secretary Defense Department, Malaysia Dr. Karminder Singh \nthoroughly explained the detailed analysis based scientific and logic \nabout the role of Adi Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji in the Twenty first \ncentury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GSC President Dr. Kanwaljit Kaur thanked the hosts \nBalwant Singh Jakarta and his team for making excellent arrangements for\n the conference and presented report of the Council.Highlighting the \nannual activities she informed about the expansion of council to other \ncountries as well besides raising the problems being faced by Sikhs in \ndifferent countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, Lady Singh briefed about the \nefforts being made by the Council for speedy construction of corridor at\n Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan and requested the Pak Government \nto refrain from any construction activities in nearby fields of this \nGurudwara\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
